Welcome.

The Seaspray 15 catamaran is a great one person catamaran. It is lightweight, goes fast in a wind and there are a good number of boats in western Canada and the United States. The boat is still being competitively sailed with the latest North Americans competition hosting 18 boats. It is a great boat to work on if you are a tinkerer and like to work with fiberglass, wood, and aluminum. There is a set of class rules governing the racing of this boat. You will find that certain things can be changed but only to a point. You are not limited to obtaining parts from the manufacturer and can fashion your own as long as they conform to the class rules (see the Class rules page).Although new boats can still be purchased by special order, most people are content with finding a used boat.It is hoped that the boat will someday be produced and actively marketed again, incorporating innovations and conforming to class rules.

Most Seasprays are recreationaly sailed. The main advantages of this boat are it’s light weight, it’s ability to carry two people(up to a certain wind speed), spare parts are still available from the manufacturer, the relative ease of righting a capsized boat, generally inexpensive repairs or upgrades, and it can be easily towed by smaller vehicles.

When you find you are not using your boat anymore consider selling it so that others may experience sailing or racing this cat.
